Twitter reactions: Jason Roy and Phil Salt shine in England’s decisive victory against the Netherlands
In a clash in the rain, England sailed to a six-wicket win by successfully chasing the target against the Netherlands in the second ODI of the current three-game series. Openers Jason Roy and Phil Salt took the Dutch bowlers to the cleaners, forming a dominating 139-point opening stand to put the game away from the hosts.
Salt continued his good form from Game 1, scoring 77 of 54 with nine boundary assists. Likewise, Roy also shone with the bat, hitting 73 on 60 deliveries, including 13 fours and a six.
After Roy left, England lost three quick wickets in the form of captain Salt Eoin Morgan and versatile Liam Livingstonebut Dawid Malan (36 no) and Moeen Ali (42 no) kept things under control and took England to the finish line in 37th place.
Earlier, the Netherlands posted 235/7 in their 41 overs allowed (the match was reduced to 41 overs per side due to the wet outfield). Captain Scott Edwards led from the front, smashing a brilliant 78 from 73 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes, before an unfortunate run-out cut short his stay in the middle. For visitors, David Willy (2/46) and Adil Rachid (2/50) picked up two wickets each.

It’s time for Eoin Morgan to stop and hand Buttler the white ball captaincy.

I was really impressed with Scott Edwards in this series. Hit diligently in a losing cause on Friday and now showing the full range of his skills with a well-compiled round today. lead from the front #NEDvsENG
