How have the teams performed so far in Tokyo 2020?

The Netherlands have been at their best throughout the tournament. The team was perfect in the group stage with five out of five wins, also recording the best goal difference (+16) having scored more than three goals per game on average.

In their previous match, the Netherlands swept New Zealand in the quarter-finals with a confident 3-0 victory in which the team kept their class and control.

These two teams met earlier in the competition as the Netherlands claimed a narrow 1-0 victory in a hotly contested battle – the only time a team has come close to a goal from the Dutch at the Tokyo Games.

The British women finished third in their pool with nine points, suffering two close losses to the aforementioned Germany and the Netherlands along the way.

Mark Hager’s side advanced to the semi-finals considerably with a 2-0 shootout victory over Spain after nothing could separate the teams in a 2-2 regulation-time draw .
