Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ offers a drive-thru version of Holiday in the Park: preview

For the first time in its history, Big Six Flags Adventure will offer its annual park vacation as a driving experience.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, visitors can now experience the festive holiday scenes, created with more than a million twinkling lights, from the comfort, warmth and safety of their own vehicles, according to a statement from hurry.

Held from November 30 to December 17, the holiday show runs Monday through Thursday evenings at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ

While this isn’t the only vacation drive-thru in the Northeast, it’s the only one set up in a theme park. According to John Winkler, President of Six Flags Great Adventure, “Theme park enthusiasts won’t want to miss this extremely rare opportunity to drive through the park.”

The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru experience will feature 12 different zones set within the 140-acre theme park. Guests can view greetings from beloved holiday characters from a distance, be treated to entertainment, and best of all, a drive-by with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves.

An overview is shown below:

Winkler goes on to say, “The popularity of our Wild Safari Drive-Thru adventure has shown us that families are looking for ways to create special, safe and socially distant memories together.”

Some highlights of the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru experience include the “North Pole” area where Santa’s house is completely engulfed in lights; the “Polar Point” with glacier blue trees and the 15-story Ferris Wheel lit by lavender light; a colonial Christmas in “Main Street Christmas” with gently falling snow and “Snowman City” with its inflatable three-story snowman.

Event requirements include:

  • Advance reservations are required from noon on November 25 (no sales available at the door).
  • A limited number of vehicles will be allowed each night.
  • Wearing masks is compulsory when the windows are down.
  • Smoking, littering, stopping or leaving vehicles is prohibited.
  • Only cars, SUVs, vans and pickup trucks are allowed.
