Volpe, Robert E. ROTTERDAM Robert E. Volpe, 80, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Hospice Inn at Saint-Pierre Hospital. Bob was born in Schenectady, the son of the late George Volpe and Anne (Voci) Senecal. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and the Spencer Business Institute. Bob worked as a court reporter for 56 years, including 20 years as a certified court reporter for the New York State Supreme Court, Albany’s Third Judicial District. He was an avid fly fishing enthusiast and traveled the country with his best friend, Bob Stockton. He was a proud member of Sons of Italy, enjoying the camaraderie with his colleagues and the pétanque competition between his friends. Bob was an excellent home chef, especially when working with Cajun and Italian cuisine. His passionate hobbies included photography, woodworking, gardening, golfing and spending time traveling, laughing with friends (he was a superb storyteller) and frequenting places of art and entertainment with light. of her life – Cheryl Lynn. Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Cheryl Lynn (Winegar) Volpe; his sons, Rob (Lori) Volpe and Christopher (Maria) Volpe; grandchildren, Aubrey Volpe, Francesca Volpe, Christopher Volpe and Lorenzo Volpe; and her cousins, Kathy (Jim) Beswick and Bill (Maxine) Pecora. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his grandson, Robbie Volpe. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place on a date and time to be announced.
