Quick Start Keys Rams Win Johnstown News, Sports, Jobs


AMSTERDAM – The Amsterdam Rams quickly took the lead and clinched a 24-1 win over Johnstown in Foothills Council action on Friday at Rao Family Stadium in Shuttleworth Park.

CJ Durinick led the Rams’ offense with a triple, double and single for five RBIs and two runs scored, while Spencer Cotugno scored two doubles, two singles, two runs batted in and Ryan Reagan collected three RBIs with three singles and scored four runs.

Carson Cotugno put in a strong performance on the mound, allowing three hits, striking out 10 and walking every six inning.

Brady Brownell, Mick Winton and Dawson Sanges were all single in the fourth inning for Johnstown. Ethan Euler hit on a mistake early in the fourth and scored on the Sanges single for Sir Bills’ run.

Canajoharie 9,

Bern-Knox-Westerlo 1

BERNE – Zach Suits, Jack Krug and Richie Tamsett combined on a hit as Canajoharie outscored Bern-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Conference Track and Field competition on Thursday.

The Suits struck out seven in five innings, Krug struck out two balls in one and Tamsett struck out an inning in one for the Cougars.

Krug also had a double, a triple, a home run, an RBI and two runs scored for Canajoharie (8-0 overall, 7-0 WAC).

Tommy Weingart had a single, homerun, two RBIs and a run for the Cougars, Chance Petteys had a single, a triple, a run batted in and three runs scored, and Tamsett had a single, a double and a scored a point. Jack Montanye had a brace, an RBI and a run scored for Canajoharie, Suits a single, Riley Montanye had a run RBI and Keegan Myers scored.
