Bilfinger and Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam continue their long-standing successful partnership through the SIP’s United joint venture. The joint venture includes Bilfinger as well as other contractors who provide height access, insulation and painting services for Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam. For over 50 years Bilfinger has been carrying out maintenance and project work for Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam in Pernis, the Netherlands. The current framework agreement has been extended for five years. A key factor in extending the contract has been SIP United’s wide range of height access solutions, including scaffolding, aerial platforms and rope access. The excellent safety record of Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam also played a large role in the contract extension.
âOur long-standing cooperation with Shell at the Pernis site is characterized by shared values ââsuch as partnership, trust and safety. For more than half a century, we have been working hand in hand to constantly develop ever more efficient modes of collaboration. Bilfinger offers a wide range of integrated maintenance services to achieve lasting improvements and reduce costs for our customers, âsaid Duncan Hall, COO of Bilfinger.
About 200 employees of Bilfinger Industrial Services Netherlands will continue to perform daily on-site maintenance work in the areas of insulation, painting and heat tracing, using various height access solutions such as scaffolding and aerial work platforms. For the first time, the new contract will also include rope access services from Bilfinger size specialists, a safe, fast and economical alternative for hard-to-reach areas.
In addition to the maintenance work, the Bilfinger team, as part of SIP’s United, will also be involved in the rehabilitation of 60 different facilities at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park site in Rotterdam. During peak hours, Bilfinger will increase its capacity to 400 employees at Pernis.
