More than 500 people gather in Amsterdam for Euro Convergence, the largest European event ever organized by RAPS

RAPS today wrapped up the final day of Euro Convergence 2022, which took place live and in person in Amsterdam after being held virtually the previous two years. Euro Convergence is the premier annual event for European regulatory professionals. This year’s event attracted over 500 participants from six continents and 33 countries.

Attendees gathered for three days of educational sessions, expert presentations and panel discussions hosted exclusively by European regulatory leaders and focused on the most pressing medical device, IVD and regulatory topics. pharmaceutical for the European market. This year’s Euro Convergence also provided the European regulatory community with a long-awaited opportunity to meet again in person to discuss issues, share ideas and network.

“It was great to be able to meet in person again,” said conference committee co-chair Siegfried Schmitt, vice president, technical, PAREXEL. “The European regulatory community continues to face significant changes in EU regulation, even as we continue to address urgent pandemic-related healthcare needs. Bringing health authorities, notified bodies and regulated industry together in the same room has been invaluable. »

Euro Convergence 2022 featured over 50 training sessions and over 120 expert speakers. Presenters included more than 30 representatives from health authorities: European Medicines Agency (EMA), European Commission (EC), Swissmedic, Austrian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, UK Medicines Regulatory Agency and Health Products (MHRA) and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or notified bodies, such as BSI, TÜV SÜD, Dekra and Kiwa Dare. The agenda also included poster presentations, sponsored sessions and networking events, as well as several pre-conference workshops.

For the first time, Euro Convergence delegates voted to select the best poster, which was awarded to “Regulatory intelligence, to protect and serve your medical device strategy globally” by Raquel Carnero with IQVA.

“Euro Convergence 2022 has been a huge success,” said conference committee co-chair Alex Laan, senior director of medical research, NAMSA. “It is remarkable that RAPS has been able to organize such a dynamic, substantial and well-managed face-to-face event after two years of virtual meetings. The fact that this is the largest European conference ever organized by RAPS is a testament to the dynamism and dedication of the regulatory community.
