Missouri Department of Transportation working in Amsterdam, Amoret, Hume, and Rich Hill
The Missouri Department of Transportation is advising Bates County drivers to monitor teams of contractors improving sidewalks and working close to traffic in Amsterdam, Amoret, Hume and Rich Hill starting the week of October 11.
The improvements include bringing sidewalks, ramps and pedestrian areas into compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The teams will carry out the following work:
- Amsterdam: Bates County Route Y – Build a sidewalk from Walnut Street south to a point three hundred feet
- Amoret: Missouri Route 52 – Install curb ramps at intersections of 1st Street # 2sd Street, Broadway Street, 3rd Street and 4e Street
- Hume: Bates County Route A – Build sidewalks between Spring Street and Hume Street and install five crosswalks between 7e Rue and Rue Reese
- Rich Hill: Bates County Route A – Install three crosswalks at intersections of 1st Street, 4e Street and 10e Street
Teams from the Missouri Department of Transportation will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Drivers may encounter flaggers in areas where crews are working. Signs and notice boards alert drivers approaching work areas in Amsterdam, Amoret, Hume and Rich Hill as crews work on sidewalks, ramps and pedestrian areas.
Work in these areas is expected to be completed on November 1.st if time allows it.
