John Kost Jr., 61, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Sunday October 3, 2021. John was born in Schenectady to his parents, Ann Catrambone Kost and the late John Kost Sr. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, SCCC and received her BA from the College of St. Rose. For over 30 years John worked at the General Electric Co. After his retirement John traveled the country in his motorhome watching all the auto races he loved so much. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beth Allen Kost; his mother, Ann Kost de Schenectady; sister, Kathy (Jerry) Adach of Schenectady; nieces, Kristen (Joe) Cashera of Schenectady and Nicole Adach of Boston; his sisters-in-law, Cathy Devine of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Dawn (Bob) Ferrier of Summerville, SC and Elaine (Dan) Gregoire of Goose Creek, SC as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Call hours will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Please wear masks when you visit. John’s family would especially like to thank NY Oncology and Hematology, especially Dr Kambam and his staff and Albany Medical Center, especially Dr Hand and staff for their dedication to caring for John during his illness. We are truly grateful for the support and kindness from our dear friends and family of runners. John loved animals and loved spending time with his dogs, Lucky and Princess so much.
