Hoffmann modernizes its factory in the Netherlands with a line dedicated to cans of powdered baby milk
An investment of 4 million euros separates the production of powdered baby milk cans, paving the way for further growth with space for an additional line.
Thun, Switzerland – Hoffmann, a global supplier of high-quality packaging for infant food, nutrition and wellness products, has modernized its manufacturing facility in the Netherlands to include a production line of dedicated boxes for products powdered milk for babies. Now installed and operated in a separate room for food grade compliance, the new line currently serves a major customer in the baby milk sector.
Hoffmann manufactures its box supplies with BRC / IoP GS 6 and ISO 9001 production standards, applicable for major markets such as EU, US and China. The investment of 4 million euros allows it to increase its capacity of powdered baby milk cans by 118 million pieces per year. Currently, the line produces 99mm diameter cans with volumes up to 400 grams (0.88 lbs). The newly dedicated room also has space for a second production line to accommodate continued growth.
The increased capacity and new sustainable product lines also come with a reorganized management team. To ensure alignment of its two can production plants in Switzerland and the Netherlands, Hoffmann streamlined its executive structure to take responsibility for its entire growing metal packaging business unit.
First of all, Andreas Geiger, Managing Director of the Metal Business Unit, is leaving the Hoffmann Neopac group after two years at the head of the box sector. André Seiler has taken over the management of the tin division and will commute between the two main production sites in Switzerland and the Netherlands. Mr. Seiler is a long-time professional in the metalworking industry, most notably as Managing Director of Stebler Blech AG and Stebler Packaging AG in Nunningen, Switzerland. He is the current president of the Swiss Metals Association (SVM).
In addition, Karin Paldanius, expert in the packaging industry, will join Hoffmann on February 1, 2022 as Director of Sales, TINS. Ms. Paldanius comes to Hoffmann with extensive experience in the packaging and production industries.
Finally, the commercial director Tomas Pivko has decided to lighten his workload. He takes a step back from the Management Board and liaises with key accounts.
âThe new dedicated line of powdered baby milk cans at our factory in the Netherlands strengthens Hoffmann’s position as a European producer of specialties in the metal packaging sectorâ, said Mark Aegler, CEO of Hoffmann Neopac. âWe are delighted to welcome new team members and would like to congratulate Andreas Geiger and Tomas Pivko for the exemplary work they have done to develop and transform our packaging business over the past decade. Going forward, we continue to invest heavily in decarbonizing our production sites and products, thereby reducing our overall impact on the steel packaging supply chain.
