‘Ghost Adventures: Cecil Hotel’ coming to new Discovery + streaming platform in 2021
One of America’s most notorious haunted hotels will be investigated for paranormal activity thanks to Discovery’s all-new streaming platform.
For the first time ever, the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, California will have film crews trying to catch signs of the Spirit in its theaters. The resulting two-hour special of ‘Ghost Adventures: Cecil Hotel’ will be available on Discovery + in January 2021.
Discovery’s official press release says the “Ghost Adventures” team – Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley – will delve into the hotel’s murky past and scariest moments.
These moments include the well-publicized case of Elisa lam, a Canadian tourist whose body was discovered in the hotel’s water tank. Previously, video footage of Lam nervously hiding in an elevator hinted at more sinister events. The story of Lam’s death – and the events leading up to it – remains a mystery.
Another notable guest at the Cecil Hotel was Richard Ramirez. Later known as the “Night Stalker,” Ramirez was a serial killer who terrorized Los Angeles in the eighties. He was charged with the death penalty for the murders of 14 victims and died of cancer before his execution.
No wonder the location was used as the inspiration for “American Horror Story: Hotel”.
“It doesn’t get bigger and more sinister than that,” said Bagans, the lead paranormal investigator. “We’ve been trying to get into these rooms for over a decade, so it’s a really big deal: the very first paranormal investigation at the Cecil Hotel. It has a dark history and reputation and it’s one of the heaviest places we’ve ever been.
You can start streaming “Ghost Adventures: Cecil Hotel” along with a ton of other great content starting January 4, 2021. on the Discovery + streaming platform.
