Barbara Bianchi Obituary (2022) – Amsterdam, NY
Barbara graduated from Amsterdam Schools and later worked at Mohasco Industries, Perth Central School District and, for 28 years, at June’s Hallmark, retiring as a manager. Barbara treasured her family above all else and will be remembered for her kindness, humor, strength and dedication. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her brother Laurent. She is survived by her husband, Frank; three children: Alison (George Negron) Bianchi of Rotterdam, Eric Bianchi of New York and Katie (Amy) Bianchi of Portland, OR; his grandson, Bodhi; his nephew, Nicholas Bianchi of CA, as well as aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassionate care of Barbara; Father Robert DeMartinis and Deacon Michael Ryba for their spiritual comfort; and many dear relatives, friends and neighbors, for their kindness and generosity.
A Christian Burial Mass will be offered on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Historic Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY. Roll call hours will take place before Mass, starting at 9 a.m. at the church. All are invited to attend. Private interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. Out of an abundance of caution, everyone present at the service is asked to wear a mask.
